Nourishing your body with nutrient rich food is essential for total health and well-being. A variegated diet of nutrient rich foods is the most important factor for muscle growth, reducing the risk of chronic diseases, and maintaining a balanced mind and emotions.

A regular weight training program helps you reduce body fat and burn calories more efficiently, allowing for healthy weight loss. Weight training helps enhance and maintain your muscle mass and bone mass, no matter what age you are. 

Cardio exercise burns calories, elevates your heart rate and helps you lose excess fat. But the type of cardio you do is essential to real results. A combination of weight training and effective cardio will help you reduce fat, resulting in a lean, muscular look--and optimal health. 

Mental health is important at every stage of life. Creating a disciplined, but flexible mind will allow you to be open to growth and new opportunities while maintaining the daily actions necessary to achieve total health. Mental health also determines how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices. 

Maintaining and integrating meaning and purpose in one's life through connections with self/others, art, music, literature, or nature contributes to total health by providing individual peace and harmony. Developing personal spiritual values will enhance your well-being and further your fitness journey.

Every day in the gym I see people working out incredibly ineffectively.  They have terrible form, they stare at their phones for minutes on end between sets…they work out as though they are going through the motions.  It is no wonder that people with otherwise good intentions spend countless hours in the gym with little or nothing to show for their time.  By training smart, I am able to get far superior results in much less time. I can show you simple and effective changes that will lead to results you never thought possible.

 

Most personal trainers fail to help clients set specific goals, let alone monitor them.  I see trainers spend more time on their phones – or chatting endlessly about weekend plans – than focusing on their clients.  An ideal relationship with a personal trainer results in the client being self-dependent after 10 – 20 sessions, having learned proper technique, the right line up of exercises, and achieving clearly defined goals. 

 

I’ve seen the same person work out with a trainer several times a week for years with little to no visible results.  My approach is radically different.  I am not there to be your therapist (although we will discuss the mind as part of goal setting which is vital for success).  I am there to help you define and achieve specific health and fitness goals you never before thought attainable.  While I will always be available for a tune up - or just a plain old great workout together - my goal is to help you develop new skills and habits that make you no longer dependent on anyone but yourself to maintain an incredibly healthy, fit, energetic lifestyle.
